Creating a combination between serif and sans serif typefaces, Jotia utilises the best of both worlds, resulting in a unique and modern neo-humanist font family.
Taking its inspiration from lapidary inscriptions rather than pen drawn text, Jotia uses triangular serif shape details to create a strong uniformed personality with clear legibility. This original quality enables characters to be expressive in headlines, as well as in printed and onscreen text situations.
Jotia also works beautifully alongside both serif and sans serif typefaces giving complex editorial work a more powerful and visually stimulating dynamic. Details include six weights, a full European character set, manual kerning and spacing, ligatures and alternatives.

At the end of July I will be having a trip down to Reading to attend the Granshan 2015 conference.

Granshan celebrates the diversity and richness of the typographic scripts that underpin global communication, empower communities, and enables identity. The annual Granshan conference is about typeface design and typography for familiar and unfamiliar scripts, for readable and elusive languages, and for design challenges that combine deep history and unmarked territories where innovation is the only way forward. This July we are expanding the format to take advantage of our location in the University of Reading, the hub of research and practice in typeface design for global scripts.
The theme of the conference is “Global design in practice”. Our programme is developed around the idea of type for real typographic applications, and design for evolving document genres. The first day, Thursday 23 July, is dedicated to talks by MATD graduates, to highlight the expanding influence of the programme's graduates. On Friday and Saturday the conference welcomes a global range of speakers, in a mix that is unlike any other event.
